Tansu (the Japanese word for “trunk”) refers to a variety of trunks, chests, boxes and storage cabinetry popular in Japan from about 1650 to 1920. Combining the skills of the cabinetmaker, blacksmith and lacquer artist, Tansu can run the gamut from simple unadorned cabinetry to ornate chests using 100 or more pieces of hardware.

This turned and polished brass knob is 14mm in diameter by 14mm high, mounts with the included bolt, and comes with a 12mm × 65mm escutcheon (pins not included) made from 0.3mm brass sheet.
