USS Arizona Warship Model - Revell

On the morning of December 7, 1941, the sun was shining and all was calm at Pearl Harbor. The USS Arizona had just returned from fleet exercises and was moored alongside other battleships off the coast of Ford Island. Most of the crew was having breakfast when the peace was shattered by the sound of gunfire and explosions. As sailors rushed to the deck, they realized their ship was under attack. Tragedy struck swiftly: the Arizona was hit on the port side by a torpedo, amidships by a heavy bomb, and at the bow by an armor-piercing bomb. The explosion was catastrophic—1,100 sailors lost their lives.
