Tansu (the Japanese word for “trunk”) refers to a variety of trunks, chests, boxes and storage cabinetry popular in Japan from about 1650 to 1920. Combining the skills of the cabinetmaker, blacksmith and lacquer artist, Tansu can run the gamut from simple unadorned cabinetry to ornate chests using 100 or more pieces of hardware.

These black-painted steel hinges (1mm thick) open from 90° to 360°.

They measure 30mm wide (across the knuckle) by 110mm high; the longest leaf length is 70mm.

Mount using #1 screws (not included). Small steel fasteners suitable for these hinges are available separately.
