Spindle Arm Morris Chair & Footstool Plan

This 36" × 48" plan is complemented with a detailed and well-written instruction book that contains a bill of materials, a cutting list, jig and fixture plans (where necessary), alternative construction notes and suggested finishing techniques.

This chair is a direct reflection of the work done by William Morris in England in the early 1900s. It is also influenced by the work of Gustav Stickley in America. It features quadrilinear leg post construction.

These posts have four quarter-sawn oak boards mitered and then glued, a technique that best displays the oak’s ray fleck. The instructions explain three different methods of leg construction. Includes a footstool plan. 40" high by 36" wide and 42" deep.
