In this complement to The Minimalist Woodworker (2015), the author applies the woodworking methods covered in his earlier book to seven skill-building projects, introducing new techniques along the way. Tesolin begins by showing how to make two useful shop tools: a violin knife and a wooden smoothing plane. Other projects include a box constructed using traditional dovetail joinery, a perch stool, an album crate sized for holding vinyl LP records, and a six-board chest made using pinned lap joints. The final project, a hanging wall cabinet, includes techniques for installing hinges and working with veneer.
