E.C. Emmerich Traditional Wooden Jack Plane
From Lee Valley
Nothing represents tradition in woodworking like the wooden plane, with many design elements that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years.
One reason for their enduring popularity is that they are lighter than comparable steel planes and are therefore less tiring to use.
Used to surface wide, rough boards, this 240mm (9 7/16") long jack plane has a beech body with a hornbeam sole. The 48mm (1 7/8") wide double iron is set bevel-down at a 45° bed angle and is adjusted by light hammer taps to set angle and projection, a process that permits fine, quick adjustment. It has a horn-shaped handle, usable with either a right- or left-hand grip.
Made in Germany by E.C. Emmerich, the manufacturer of the finest wooden planes available today.
Not available for shipment to Québec.
