Golden brand crackle paste is a thick white and opaque gel specially made to leave cracks on a surface as it dries. The size and depth of the cracks depend on numerous factors, including the thickness of the applied coat, the support and drying conditions. It has a consistency similar to cake icing, easily manipulated by a palette knife. Peaks will maintain their height and appearance as the surface remains absorbent. Colours can be mixed with the paste or applied directly on the crackled surface.Do not force dry Crackle Paste, nor try to slow the drying by adding Retarder or other additives, as both conditions may interfere with the products ability to crack.
