Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner provides gentle cleaning power that will not damage brushes or other artist tools (like painting knives or palettes), yet effectively and thoroughly removes oil and acrylic paints. This new formula consists of a soap base, which foams a little when scrubbed. It can be used on all brushes and all colours, and will not damage synthetic or natural hair. Oil, alkyd and acrylic paints, as well as paint mediums, are effectively softened and easily removed from paint. How to useUse the Brush Cleaner after you've finished painting. Dip your brush into the liquid and scrub a little if necessary. The resulting foam will help rinse the pigments and binders out of the brush. Then, wipe the brush with a cloth and rinse a little with water. If the brush if very clogged, it may be necessary to soak it in the cleaner for a longer period of time, possibly overnight. After every cleaning, bring the brush head back to its original shape and allow to dry. Avoid contact with varnishes or lacquered surfaces, such as brush handles, as the cleaner will also soften these.
