Battery-Free Kitchen Scale

You don’t often think about the battery in your kitchen scale, so you usually find out it needs replacing when you’re about to weigh ingredients. This dynamo-powered scale means you never have to worry about that again.

Twisting the dial on the top a few times generates enough electricity to power the scale. Indicators on the display tell you when it is fully charged and when the power is low, so you know when a top-up is needed. It will also power off after a period of disuse to save unnecessary cranking.

The scale can weigh up to 11 lb (5kg) in both ounces and grams, accurate to within +/-0.4%, and has a tare button to let you zero the reading to ignore the weight of a container so you can measure its contents. The tempered glass surface and ABS body are sturdy and easy to clean.
