Type A and B jaw sets have smooth, dovetail-shaped surfaces, and provide a secure, non-marring hold when expanding into a recessed foot for bowls or clamping around tenons in unsupported spigot-turned work.

The type A set can hold the work three different ways: in its external or internal jaws, or in their central bore. The type B jaws hold work with their external faces or in their central bore. Both jaws are for use with the K10 and Goliath chucks.

The 100mm (3 15/16”) type A jaws have an internal capacity of 2 13/16” to 3 5/32” and an external capacity of 3 27/32” to 4 13/16” when used with the K10 chuck, and an internal capacity of 2 13/16” to 4 11/32” and an external capacity of 3 27/32” to 5” when used with the Goliath chuck. Optimum for both is 2 13/16” to 3 15/16”.

The 62mm (2 7/16”) type B jaws have an internal capacity of 7/8” to 1 7/8” and an external capacity of 2 9/32” to 3 9/32” when used with the K10 chuck, and an internal capacity of 7/8” to 3 1/32” and an external capacity of 2 9/32” to 4 15/32” when used with the Goliath chuck. Optimum for both is 1” to 2 15/32”.

The type C dovetail jaw set is especially useful for small bowls and unsupported end-grain work such as boxes and goblets. These versatile jaws have smooth external dovetail faces for expansion into a recessed foot and an internal grip that is lipped for extra hold on spigots. This lip also interlocks with other workholding accessories, such as a screw chuck or spur center. The smooth central bore provides an additional gripping surface for a straight-sided spigot.

The 50mm (2”) jaws are compatible with all three Axminster chucks; they have an internal capacity of 1 13/16” to 2 13/16” and an external capacity of 1 31/32” to 2 3/4”. Optimum is 1 19/32” to 1 31/32” for each. The 69mm (2 11/16”) jaws are for the K10 Clubman and Goliath chucks only; they have an internal capacity of 1 31/32” to 2 31/32” and an external capacity of 2 9/16” to 3 9/16” when used with the K10 chuck and an internal capacity of 1 31/32” to 4 5/32” and an external capacity of 2 9/16” to 4 3/4” when used with the Goliath chuck. Optimum is 2 7/32” to 2 23/32” for each.

Intended for small-diameter work, the Type D and F jaw sets have dovetailed external faces for recessed foot applications and a straight central bore to clamp around spigots. Their smooth surfaces help reduce marring.

The type D jaws are available in two sizes. The 15mm (9/16”) fits all three Axminster chucks; they have an internal capacity of 0 to 13/16” and an external capacity of 13/16” to 1 19/32”. Optimum is 0 to 1 3/16”. The 25mm (1”) jaws are only for use with the K10 Clubman and Goliath chucks; they have an internal capacity of 7/32” to 1 3/16” and an external capacity of 13/16” to 1 25/32” for the K10 chuck, and an internal capacity of 7/32” to 2 13/16” and an external capacity of 13/16” to 2 31/32” for the Goliath chuck. Optimum for both is 15/32” to 1”.

The 38mm (1 1/2”) Type F jaws for use with K10 and Goliath chucks have an internal capacity of 13/32” to 1 19/32” and an external capacity of 1 3/16” to 2 11/32” for the K10 chuck and an internal capacity of 13/32” to 2 3/4” and an external capacity of 1 3/16” to 3 17/32” for the Goliath chuck. Optimum for both is 3/4" to 1 1/2”.
