- Hair should be clean and completely dry before using the styler. Plug the styler into any standard electrical outlet. Press the ON/OFF button to switch unit on. The white light will blink. Press "+/-" button to select your desired temperature. To turn the unit off, press the ON/OFF button for 1-2 seconds again. The "+/-" buttons will automatically lock within 5 seconds after turning the styler on. To unlock the styler, press and hold "+" or "-" button for 1-2 seconds. WARNING: The styler will get very hot within a few seconds and should not be placed in contact with the skin after the unit has been turned on. TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR Make sure the UNLOCK/LOCK button is in the unlock position. 1. Divide hair into sections and place the section between the plates, close to the roots. 2. Gently slide the plates down the length of the hair. If you want to create some shape at the ends of the hair, slightly bend your wrist inward or outward as you reach the end of each section. 3. Repeat as necessary through the remaining sections of your hair. Allow the hair to cool before combing through. TO CREATE WAVES Ensure hair is dry and combed through. 1. Make sure the UNLOCK/LOCK button is in the lock position. Start curling with a hair section that is 1-inch wide and no more than ½-inch thick. Open the spoon and place styler midway up the hair section, then spread hair evenly between spoon and barrel. Gently slide the curling iron down to hair ends. To avoid crimped ends, make sure they are securely wound under the spoon in the direction of the desired wave. Remember, always place the spoon above the hair strand when making a wave you want rolled under; place the spoon under the hair strand when creating a flip style. 2. Wind the hair up as far as you want it waved, being careful not to let the iron touch the scalp. Hold 8-12 seconds, depending on the length and texture of your hair. For tighter, bouncier waves, roll less hair. For looser, free-flowing waves, roll more hair. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire. 3. To remove the styler, unwind the hair, press the handle and allow curl to slide out. To set wave, do not comb or brush waves until cool.
