With high-speed steel cutting edges bonded to a steel cup, these hole saws have the added advantage of variable pitch teeth.

The repeating pattern of teeth (varying from 15° of rake with large gullets to 0° of rake with shallow gullets) and the variable pitch (4 to 6 tpi) give smooth cutting in a wide variety of materials. The constantly changing hook angles and spacing eliminate chatter and increase cutting efficiency. The alternately set teeth cut a smoother hole than the standard wavy pattern.

Hole saws are available individually and in a sets that include a mandrel. The set of 7 includes saw sizes 1 1/4" to 2 1/4" and a standard mandrel; the set of 6 includes saw sizes 2 1/2" to 4 1/4" and a heavy-duty mandrel. The mandrels have quick-change locking mechanisms and adjustable pilot bits. The standard mandrel has a 3/8" shank and can be used only on hole saws up to 2 1/4". The heavy-duty mandrel has a 7/16" shank and can be used on all of the hole saws. The mandrels are also available separately.
