Fiskars Bill Hook
From Lee Valley
Bill hooks are versatile tools for efficiently cutting through brush and weeds. They can be swung like a small machete to chop through dense vegetation, or used for more precise pruning by hooking behind a stalk or branch and pulling to slice through it.
This is a good one, featuring a 5" long steel blade with a rust-resistant coating. The blade’s hooked edge has a sharp bevel for efficient cutting, while the opposite edge is serrated for sawing through fibrous stalks and roots. It’s also a good choice for edging tasks – the blade registers neatly against the sides of pavers or a sidewalk, while the serrated edge easily cuts through dense roots.
The handle has a soft, textured grip for a comfortable and secure hold. It comes with a durable woven sheath equipped with a belt loop for safe storage and easy portability.
