Early Ironwork of Charleston

This book, reprinted from the original 1941 edition, is an important contribution to the history of Southern ironwork. Deas concerns himself with the period from the 1750s through the 1830s. There is a wealth of illustrations for the blacksmith and designer. Most pieces are traced to their earlier sources and then discussed in relation to the influence they may have exerted on later pieces.
