Hex fasteners are used in all sorts of consumer goods, from flat-packed furniture to bicycles and electronics. This set includes the hex bit sizes most often needed, paired with a ratcheting T-handle that’s far easier to hold and turn than standard Allen keys.
The ratcheting action lets you turn fasteners without continually having to remove and reposition the bit. The fine-tooth mechanism can operate right, left and locked. A 4" crossbar fits through the body to form the T-handle, with detents to lock it in the middle or extended to either side for leverage or clearance. The driver's compact shape fits nicely in the palm. To access deeply recessed fasteners, the set also includes a 1 1/4" magnetic bit extender.
The 14 bits cover the most common Imperial and metric sizes: 3/32", 7/64", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4", 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. The holder also accepts other insert bits you may already own. Sliding back a knurled collar disengages the bit holder to remove or insert a bit; releasing the collar automatically locks the bit in place.
The sturdy, compact plastic case has a form-fitting liner to keep everything in one place so you can find it when you need it – no more rooting through a drawerful of loose hex keys to find the one that came with your bookcase!
